“In the midst of the trials and troubles that come upon the people of God, these things cannot destroy our hope; we look beyond.” – Servant of God Father Paul Wattson, SA, Apostle of Christian Unity and Charity

Trials and troubles: Jesus let Himself be sold for silver by one of His closest friends, be condemned on fake charges, lashed with whips and crowned with thorns, nailed to a bloody cross where He died. He died murmuring God’s mercy on his enemies and love on all of us. Yes, Jesus looked beyond. A cross of death became the Tree of Life.

“If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men and women to Myself…all people, no matter who they are, or what they have done.” We praise you Oh God, and we bless You, because by your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement will remember you and your loved ones in all our Easter Prayers and Masses. At Graymoor, during our Easter Vigil Mass, the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement celebrate this indestructible hope given to us through the Resurrection of the Lamb of God. We hope you will continue to pray with us and for us so that all can realize more fully the unity we have in Christ and to give thanks for one another. Together, we belong to Christ, we rejoice and look beyond.

Have a Blessed Easter filled with joy and hope!

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Bob Warren, SA
