Fr. Damian MacPherson, SA, and Jean Kodin of The Catholic Register, presented prizes to the 2017 Student Writing Contest winners Sabrina Quartone, Jessica Nguyen, Ruthann J. Lemonius, along with Vivian Kwok, Administrative Assistant for the Office of Ecumenical and Interfaith Affairs of the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Fr. Elias Mallon, SA, Franciscan Friar of the Atonement, and External Affairs Officer for Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), was invited to give a presentation at the 38th Seerah Conference at the Islamic Center of Central New Jersey (Monmouth Junction, NJ) on 30 December 2016.

In a series of four power point presentations Fr. Damian offered the priests a basic understanding of commonly held tenants of the faith of Islam.
