The retreat center at Graymoor has been a source of faithful renewal for many years. Now, the facility has been given new life with an expanded focus. And with that new focus comes a new name: Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center.
The new name succinctly defines a retreat center that reaches out in true Franciscan hospitality to a variety of retreatants seeking peace, rest and oneness with the Lord. Existing retreats at Graymoor continue as before, but now the schedule includes youth- and family-focused activities.
This expanded ministry creates a welcoming, dynamic resource forged by a common goal of sharing God’s love and hope with others. “We will create a place of belonging at Graymoor for retreatants of all ages and every walk of life,” Fr. Brian Terry, SA, said as plans for the Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center were announced. “In so doing, we seek to realize the unity prayed for by Jesus – ‘that all may be one’ – and to answer Pope Francis’ call for Franciscan communities like ours to unite to best serve God, the Church and people of faith.”
