Ministry to Christians around the world is a crucial part of At-One-Ment, and the Friars take their responsibility to those in need very seriously. To that end, the Friars are proud to work with the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America for infants in the Holy Land each December, and that tradition is still going strong.
“It’s really captured people’s imaginations,” said Fr. Jim Gardiner, SA. And that power has born fantastic results: just a few weeks in, a community from Indiana had already contributed 13 cartons of onesies. This particular effort has even been noticed on a national scale, as the Catholic News Service wrote an account of the drive in 2019.
Through this and other drives, the Friars have continued to take seriously Christ’s order to love “the least of these,” and continue to pray for At-One-Ment throughout the world. Ministering to babies in Jesus’ hometown is just one special way to do that in December. New onesies can be sent to Fr. Jim at Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land, 1400 Quincy Street, NE, Washington, DC 20017.
