The Friars of the Atonement celebrated the 2020 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 18-25) and its theme of “unusual kindness” on the Holy Mountain of Graymoor and at their parishes and ministries worldwide.
The Graymoor Ecumenical and Interreligious Institute (GEII) once again played a key role, as both a hub of resources and information and through various GEII events, including an ecumenical prayer service at the Interchurch Center in New York City.
The GEII service was celebrated by Fr. Jim Loughran, SA; Rev. LaKeesha Walrond, PhD, President of the New York Theological Seminary; Fr. Nicolas Kazarian, PhD, Ecumenical Officer of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America; and Bishop Paul Egensteiner of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
