Fr. Jim Puglisi, SA, was invited by the Western Diocesan & Eparchial Coordinators of Ecumenism (WDECE)—which serves the Assembly of Western Catholic Bishops of Canada (AWCB)—to offer a presentation at their annual meeting, held October 16–18, 2025, at St. Mark’s College in Vancouver.
The theme of this year’s gathering was “Jubilee of Hope: Christian Witness in a Changing World.” In keeping with that vision, Fr. Jim delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the history and theological development of the proposed new liturgical feast: the Feast of Creation in Christ. His contribution highlighted the feast’s roots in ecumenical dialogue, its resonance with Franciscan spirituality, and its potential to deepen the Church’s witness to reconciliation with all creation.
The meeting also focused on the implementation of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops’ National Strategy for Ecumenism, with particular attention to regional collaboration and formation.
