In Italy, Br. Paolo and Br. Fabrizio featured here in the photo reading special greetings from our Benefactors, are preparing for Christmas festivities in Italy with a great celebration to be held on Wednesday, November 29 in Rome at the Basilica of St. John Lateran to commemorate the 800th Anniversary of the Creche/first nativity of St. Francis. In addition, they will be hosting a luncheon event in the Friars formation house to officially begin our 125th community anniversary celebrations in Italy.
In Peru…
The Friars in Peru are celebrating many vocation events in December. On December 15, Brother Teodoro, Brother Yasser, and Brother Alexander will renew their vows during a community celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Foundation of the Society of the Atonement. They will also host a “Come and See”, a vocational program to guide new people interested in the Friars’ way of living. Others within the community will take time to visit and help in the mission field where some will go to the Sierra and others to the Amazon jungle. The community will gather for a Christmas celebration on December 26th followed by a New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31st.

Special Gifts, Stocking Stuffers and More at Graymoor Craft Fair – Saturday, December 16
As you begin to plan for the special gifts and stocking stuffers you’ll need this holiday season, please mark your calendars for our Craft Fair which will be held at Graymoor from 9AM– 2PM. There will be many “must have” items from our very own Graymoor Book and Gift Shop, from greeting cards to ornaments and more! We will also have several local artists onsite selling handmade and specially crafted seasonal items. Please bring friends, family members and neighbors with you – we are hoping to draw in a large crowd!
Celebrate the Anniversary of the Creche at Graymoor – Sunday, December 17: 800th Anniversary of the Creche Celebration
Each year, more than 100 nativity scenes from around the world are displayed in the Pius X Building of Graymoor. There are nearly 100 beautiful and spiritual nativity scenes from across the world! Join us from 12:30pm-3:00pm for an extraordinary Franciscan event created by St. Francis of Assisi in 1223. Fr. Tom Orians, SA, will guide attendees through the renowned window display showing Creches reflecting cultures around the globe and share the stories of the first nativity display. Desserts and a musical performance will also be included. We hope to see you there – and please be sure to share this event with your friends and family.
