About Fr. David Fitzgerald, SA

 

Father Fitzgerald was installed as Pastor of St. Andrew the Apostle in Apex, North Carolina on January 3, 1999. He professed his first vows as a Franciscan Friar of the Atonement on July 26, 1959 and was ordained in June 1965. Throughout his years as a Friar, he has served as Rector of the Church of Sant’ Onofrio al Gianicolo in Rome, as Pastor of St. Francis De Sales in Lumberton NC, as Director Guardian of Chapel of Our Savior Brockton, MA. He was Chaplain at the Mother House of the Sisters of the Atonement at Graymoor. He ministered as Pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Richmond, British Columbia. He was Director of the Retreat Center at Graymoor, Garrison, NY, and was Spiritual Director at the Juniorate of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, Cumberland, RI. Father Fitzgerald taught for three years at St. Johns Atonement Seminary, Montour Falls, NY.

Fr. David arrived at St. Andrew’s from Rome, Italy, on October 14, 1997, and was assigned Associate Pastor of St. Andrew’s until he was installed as Pastor in January 1999.  He currently resides at Graymoor.
