Fr. Jan Janoszka, SA celebrated his rite of ordination at Graymoor in January 2024. Born in Poland, Jan spent much of his adult life in England, where he focused on ecumenism, interreligious dialog and social justice. From social work with refugees to immigration law, Fr. Jan recognized a need for at-one-ment to heal the world’s woes.

Catholics around the world recently celebrated Ash Wednesday. At Graymoor, the Friars observed the start of Lent with a beautiful Mass.

February marks Black History Month in the United States. Often, the secular world remembers inventors, sports heroes and other African-Americans who achieved renown. We must also remember those who loved God and their neighbor as the Lord commanded -- people who triumphed through adversity and shared the Gospel.

On Sunday, January 28, we welcomed members of the Roaring Brook Lake Gardening Club to the San Damiano Farm for a workshop and demonstration on plant propagation.

The Centro Pro Unione (CPU) recently concluded a series of memorable events for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Each event was inspired by this year’s theme: “You shall love the Lord your God…and your neighbor as yourself.”

On December 15, 2023, Very Reverend Brian F. Terry, SA, Minister General of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, gave a homily on the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the order.

Fr. Tom Orians, SA, was a participant and speaker during Monday's “The New Year Interfaith Prayer for World Peace." The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement were founding members of the Interfaith Prayer Day and have participated in this annual service for 20 years.
