The Religion Communicators Council (RCC), a national organization that promotes excellence in the communication of faith and values in the public arena and encourages understanding among different faith groups, recently elected Fr. James Gardiner, SA, to its Board of Governors. Fr. Gardiner has been a member of the organization since 1973, serving as president of the New York chapter and chair of the 50th anniversary convention in 1979.
The RCC is composed of communications professionals who work for and with a diverse group of faith-based organizations in the areas of communications, public relations, advertising and development. Election for the Board of Governors took place during the organization’s annual convention, which this year was held remotely April 6-9. The RCC provides a number of resources for public relations professionals, including religious literacy and professional development. The RCC also presents annual awards that recognize significant achievements in the communication of religious issues and values.
