How Do Hope and Grief Co-Exist?

Saturday, September 27th
9 AM – 12 PM
Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center

Cost: $35

Hope: The Belief That Healing is Possible
“Within the midst of pain and suffering of grief, hope can bloom.
God’s salvation is at work within our woundedness, offering hope.
Amid the groans of our pain, a future blossoms. Tomorrow’s hope flowers amid today’s pain.

Trust in God’s love and mercy, even when facing grief.”
– Pope Francis, 2025

Workshop Description: In the spirit of Pope Francis proclaiming 2025 as a Holy Jubilee Year of Hope, this workshop will explore how hope and grief co-exist based on the belief that through hope healing is possible. The workshop is designed for all grievers over the age of 21 who have experienced the death of a loved one – whether recently or within the last several years – and are on a healing journey as Pilgrims of Hope.

Although grief is universal, we invite you to reflect on how your grief is uniquely personal. We will explore how grief is a form of love, how your relationship with your loved one serves as a continued bond, how we adapt, integrate and make room for grief in our lives. Understanding the process of grief and examining self-care, positive self-strategies during difficult times, will help us navigate grief as we move towards healing on our individual grief journey.

Grief offers us transformative blessings and graces. That’s explore your grief gift discoveries together.

This half-day interactive workshop, will incorporate scripture readings, group reflection questions and exercises, and individual quiet time.
