Founding Guardian of Manatí, Puerto Rico, Friary
Fr. Frank Eldridge, SA has been assigned to Manatí, Puerto Rico to manage the transfer of property gifted to the Friars by the Hermanos Franciscano de la Providencia. Fr. Frank is the Founding Guardian of the new Friary for the Friars of the Atonement.
Originally from Elizabeth, NJ, he celebrated his golden jubilee in 2014 at Graymoor in Garrison, NY, marking 50 years since he first entered the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. Fluent in Spanish, he served as Pastor at St. Odilia’s Parish in South Los Angeles, California, from 2002 to 2016. Father Eldridge was ordained in 1977, and worked as Associate Pastor at St. Anthony Parish in Hereford, TX, and St. Leonard’s Parish in Fremont, CA. Through the years, he has been part of the sacramental ministry at Chapel of Our Savior in Brockton, Massachusetts, and chaplain for St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Los Angeles. In 2012, he received the Franciscan Federation Peacemaker Award for being a passionate Franciscan who serves the poor and marginalized.
