About Fr. Dennis Polanco, SA

 

Fr. Dennis Polanco, SA, is the President & Spiritual Director of St. Christopher’s Inn, the Friars’ residential shelter and substance abuse treatment center at Graymoor in Garrison, New York.

Father Dennis was born in Baltimore in 1947. He entered the friars’ seminary at Montour Falls, NY while in high school and made his first profession of vows in 1966, and was ordained in 1974. Since his ordination, he has served in parish and campus ministries throughout North America including Christ the Redeemer Church in Sterling, VA, St. Augustine Church in Oakland, CA, St. Thomas More University Parish at the University of Oklahoma and as Pastor of St. Joseph the Worker in British Columbia. He has also served as staff officer for Ecumenical Affairs for the Oklahoma City Archdiocese and was for many years Director of Vocations at Graymoor and rector of the friars’ seminary in Washington DC.

Fr. Polanco has been elected to Friars’ General Council for three five year terms. He was instrumental in helping plan the new St. Paul’s Friary at Graymoor, completed in 2016.
