When considering your future and planning your goals, you have probably thought about what God wants from you.
Through prayer you may have discovered God is calling you to the priesthood or religious life, but there might be a nagging question in the back of your mind: how do you know it’s God’s will and not just a passing feeling?
The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement understand the process of discernment and how difficult it can be. That’s why we want to invite Catholic, single men, 40 and under, who are thinking about religious life to request an application to experience life as a Friar at Our Lady of the Atonement House.
It’s nearly impossible to understand your calling until you see how the Friars live and who they serve. Our Lady of the Atonement House of Discernment is in the heart of Manhattan. While there, you will live like a Friar and have the experience of a lifetime. You will share in the brotherhood and community of religious life, serve others, pray with the Friars, and have plenty of time to contemplate God’s plan for you.

It only takes a few minutes to complete the application request. Discerners will commit to three months initially, but can spend up to a year living and working with the Friars at the Our Lady of the Atonement House of Discernment.
