Atonement Franciscan Assembly Panel

During the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement Assembly in March, the Friars unveiled a new statement detailing our vision of At-One-Ment as it is given by Christ in the Gospels, our mission of sharing this gift to all peoples and the values that govern our actions in this mission. Moving forward, this Vision, Mission and Values statement will be a guiding principle in all that we do.

Our vision points out that, “Jesus prayed ‘that all may be one’ the night before He died on the cross. Our charism of At-One-Ment is about uniting our hearts to Jesus’s prayer of unity by living at one with God, with each other and within ourselves. Through our Franciscan life of fraternity, faith and charity and our missions globally, we pray for Christian unity and we work to bring healing, peace and harmony to our world today.

Inspired by our founders, Servant of God Father Paul Wattson, SA, and Mother Lurana White, SA, our mission states that “we joy in giving humble witness to the Gospel and welcome all to join us in praying for and promoting the At-One-Ment envisioned by Jesus. Our mission flows from our life as Franciscans. Through our ministries, we act as Christ’s servants in the world, healing brokenness and division, uniting Christians and promoting peace and harmony among all people.

Finally, we will seek to foster the following values in our ministry and convey them through our communications efforts: fraternity, gospel witness, charity, hospitality, christian unity & interfaith collaboration, and stewardship.
