The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement and St. Christopher’s Inn have always focused on accompanying people where they are—especially in moments of struggle and healing. This year, that mission will be expressed in two distinct but deeply connected ways: A Day of Hope and Be the Bridge: Walk for Recovery.
On Friday, August 14, the Mission Inward will take place at Graymoor. This Day of Hope is an opportunity for reflection and prayer designed to foster serenity. The quiet day includes a reflection inspired by the life of Brother Christopher, SA, a tour of the San Damiano Farm grounds, sharing of intentions, and fellowship. It is an invitation to turn inward in a safe, holy space. All are welcome to this free event; RSVP is requested by August 7.
The 5th Annual Be the Bridge: Walk for Recovery is scheduled for Sunday, September 20. Serving as an outward sign of grace, the Walk will bring together hundreds of people from across the Hudson Valley and beyond to stand publicly in support of recovery. It will support the lifesaving mission of St. Christopher’s Inn. This annual event raises awareness about substance use disorder and provides critical support for the men we serve every day. Additionally, a Wall of Hope will be shared at both events, honoring all participants and their intentions. Click to learn more or sign up today!
Though these events are different in tone, they are united by the same purpose. They reflect the heart of our Franciscan Atonement mission: accompanying people through suffering, fostering healing, and helping them discover that hope is always possible.
