Matt Talbot Men #9 Retreat
Friday, September 6 - Sunday, September 8
This is a retreat that brings together alcoholic men in recovery to share in prayer and reflection to help further open their spiritual path to recovery. The retreat is based upon the spirituality of Alcoholics Anonymous. A 9/11 Memorial Service will be held during the retreat at our World Trade Center Cross Memorial. We welcome men of all faiths and offer them an opportunity to enhance their spirituality and sober way of life. Matt Talbot Men # 9’s retreat leader, Jim S., will offer conferences on various topics through-out the weekend, bringing valuable insights on how to strengthen that most difficult part of the AA program, our spiritual growth.
Participants are encouraged to try everything, share and also listen with their hearts. Our peaceful atmosphere can help one to relax and think about their own needs, share their concerns, and find people who are willing to share their solutions. Men can feel free to talk with other men about their spiritual understanding and find time to take a look at themselves while surrounded by people who, like them, are interested in permanent, joyful sobriety. Much time will be available for sharing and fellowship, and for rest and meditation away from the stresses, tensions, hustle and bustle of our daily lives.
The above retreat costs $175.00 per person for a double room (you & your roommate must sign up and put a deposit down to qualify for a double room price) and $250.00 per person for a single room. Both fees include all content of our retreat, the two overnight stays and all meals starting with Saturday’s breakfast and ending with lunch on Sunday. The Center has vending machines with snacks and beverages but you are welcomed to bring your own and store them in our guest lounge refrigerators located on the fourth floor. Towels, linens and one pillow per bed are provided and bathrobes are recommended for shower use. Please bring your own alarm clock, any extra pillows and toiletries you may need. Arrivals can begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Balances if any are due upon arrival and can be fulfilled by cash, check or major credit cards. The retreat ends after Sunday’s lunch which begins at 12:15 p.m. If you plan to arrive later than 8:30 p.m. on Friday night, please call the retreat center in advance and let us know to expect you. Pre-registration is required as this retreat is limited in number of participants. If you choose to register through the mail please verify beforehand that space is still available by calling the retreat center at 845-424-2111. Keep in mind that the deadline for registration is one week before the retreat. A $75 deposit per person is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable or transferable should you cancel for ANY reason. We appreciate payment in full at the time of registration as it will make the registration process go faster on the day of your arrival, but we do not require it.
