Autumn photography Recovery Retreat
Friday, October 8 - Sunday, October 10
Graymoor’s Nature Photo Workshop is ideal for individuals who wish to expand their photographic skills and artistic horizons. Throughout the weekend, we will discover a variety of ways whereby the camera becomes a tool which strengthens our images and adds interest to our styles of visual self-expression.
All levels of photographers are welcome, including SLR camera shooters, iPhone and point and shoot camera owners.
We offer classroom instruction and group discussions after lunch (when lighting is at its harshest) and during the evenings. Photo assignments and activities (such as Our Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt) may also take place throughout the weekend.
Photography subjects may include country lanes and byways, old barns, Hudson River vistas, fall scenics, wetland, woodland landscapes, ponds and streams, fall foliage, wildflowers, migrating butterflies, frogs, chipmunks and squirrels, song, waterfowl, wading birds and possibly White-tailed Deer.
We will also explore and discover ways in which our personal and visual interpretations of nature can bring us closer to our spiritual growth. For people in recovery, the concept of seeing clearly in a world once filled with chaos and confusion is one of the gifts of sobriety.
Mr. Bruce Collins, World Renowned Photographer, has led Graymoor’s Nature Photography Workshop and Spiritual Retreats since 2007.
