Honoring Jesus’ Jewish roots, in an ecumenical tradition, this day of prayer and meditation visiting each of the Graymoor chapels culls the teachings from the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch, the Torah) and offers daily reflections for each verse in order to put them into practice for daily living. For a decade at Graymoor, Skip Doyle, in Franciscan fashion, has led nature retreats with a scripture-based spiritual component he has branded as ReCreation weekends combining our lives in the natural world with our spiritual lives. Additionally, he leads prayerful day programs using the scripture-based meditation booklets he has authored: Spiritual Directions and Torah for Christians.
