Advent Meditations: Pragmatic Reflections for Daily Living
Sunday, December 11 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm EST
Have you ever experienced closeness with God while on retreat, but then that dissipates as soon as you return to the demands of real life?
In an ecumenical tradition, this day of prayer and meditation visiting each of the Holy Mountain chapels culls the teachings from the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch, the Torah) and offers daily reflections for each verse in order to put them into practice. The word Torah means “teaching.” The Torah is meant for our instruction. Within these scriptures are contained vital verses of the voice of God.
“Daf Yomi” is Hebrew for “page of the day.” On each page of our accompanying meditation booklet, Torah for Christians, given to each participant, is the word of God, reflections on each scriptural verse, and its application for Advent and daily living.
This Advent pilgrimage on the grounds of the Holy Mountain centers us in the preparation season for Christmas. December weather can vary, so please bring warm apparel and raingear if necessary.
