Thomas Merton raised this question in one of his homilies: “Advent: Hope or Delusion?”

Merton together with other companions such as Oscar Romero, Dorothy Day, Daniel Berrigan and Joan Chittister model hope for us as we navigate into an unknown future. We will invite these women and men into our Advent retreat as we move forward in hope.

Presenter: Fr. Anthony Ciorra, PhD.

Fr. Ciorra is an author, producer and retreat director. In recognition of his ministry in the church, he received the pontifical honor Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by Pope John Paull ll in 1999. In 2000, he was awarded the Caritas Centennial Award for his work in lay ministry. He is Vice President for Mission Integration, Ministry and Multicultural Affairs and Professor of Theology at Sacred Heart University at Fairfield Connecticut.
